Asparagus officinalis 'Purple Passion'

Please note this product is sold in bundles of 10 crowns only.

Purple Passion asparagus is a unique variety that is ideal for both home gardeners and commercial growers. With its distinct purple color, flavor, and tenderness, Purple Passion stands out from other varieties. Our field trials have confirmed these qualities through taste testing. Additionally, our trials have shown that Purple Passion has high yields. To ensure optimal performance, plant Purple Passion with a spacing of 6-8 inches instead of the usual 12 inches. While cooking may diminish its bright purple color, it still provides a vibrant and flavorful addition to salads. Overall, Purple Passion is a top choice for any asparagus planting!

Plant in full sun soil with neutral ph and excellent drainage - approximately 6"-8" between crowns and rows 3'-4' apart. Crowns should be buried in furrows 8"-10" below soil level and initially covered by 2" of soil; continue to fill in the channel as the upright spears extend but do not cover the spear tips at any point. Feed and water carefully for first 2 years of establishment - harvests may begin at year 3 after planting.
